The idea came from those in the neighborhood, specifically Kathy Weppner, Bill Sullivan and Wilson’s longtime friend David Scott Myers. “I think it is a perfect tribute, because Billy was really known by so many people in the neighborhood,” Myers said. “It really was Billy’s neighborhood.”

Absolutely ecstatic that this park has been renamed after Billy… and so proud that part of the 990 as well, every time I drive pass I send up a little prayer to him..

Didn’t know Billy my self but my son was with Billy serving our country on that fateful day. Most definitely left a life long impression on him. I love that the park was named in his honor.
